WHY I WRITE
An assignment for our writing class at Tolland Senior Center
Most people, upon leaving this vale of tears, will leave memories in the minds of their descendants which will endure only as long as the recipients of said memories.
In all modesty, I will admit that loss of my thoughtful insights, learnings, education and willingness to offer the benefits thereof would be sorely missed, so I have chosen the written medium as the vehicle of transmitting my findings into eternity for the edification of succeeding generations to help them in dealing with life's imponderables.
I am reasonably certain that humanity will soldier on despite my excusing myself to be reborn. As difficult as it is for me to imagine a world without me, I feel that my persona might still have some value in the form of written recollections. Ergo, I write
