A FRIEND IN A HIGH PLACE
There was a time when we were very active socially. We went to numerous parties, or hosted them ourselves. One of the parties is memorable. It was at the home of a musician who was a very funny guy. I guess he had funny friends, although the temptation to attribute credit for the following is tempting, it is not proveable.
Upon arriving at somebody's home for a party, everybody threw hats and coats on a bed. After throwing our coats on a bed, I noticed a framed picture of Christ on a bureau. This was no ordinary picture of Christ: it was autographed as follows:
"BEST OF LUCK, J.C."
