THE FOOTNOTES

I thought you all might want to get book reviews and updates from time to time. I read a lot and always enjoy hearing from others. I just read Wicked, the untold, 'backstory,' about the wicked witch of the west. It was very good - I love how he created a memorable heroine from one of our fictional enemies. Nicely written and very creative. Then I read Super Sad True Love Story - an example of truly gifted writing mixed with social commentary and snarky humor. It's set in a future NYC. You will feel transported to a different time and place if you read it. Some parts were so beautiful I just had to cry. Try it out!

Now, to the point of this entry. Dad has been talking about reincarnation for a while and often regales us with stories about children who describe past lives in great detail. Why take his word for it? You can read this book, Life Before Life, and see for yourself. It's not great writing and it's not anything we haven't heard - BUT, I love the stories and the sense of wonder....where were we before? Where are we doing next? Is Savannah really Sonny Jones reincarnated? (The author says that dogs can do it, too, so don't laugh!). I have a few good Savannah stories that might support my belief that my new baby is really my old fat baby reincarnated, but I'll save that for another time.

Now, get reading and stop watching so much TV!
