Here's old Bob, President of the Historical Society in 1993 aboard the Society's float---surrounded by a bevy of farmers' daughters, as one might expect.

THE EVOLUTION OF A JOKE

When someone asked me how long we have been married, at first I replied."Married_____years, and had only one fight." I would wait for a reaction, then add, "It started the first day and has been going on ever since!" (lots of laughs)
I then upgraded the joke by saying, "Married ______years and have had only one fight." After the usual pause I now added, "It started on the altar." (lots of laughs)
I have now outdone my self with, "Married ______years and hsave had only one fight. Pause, "I say it started on the altar, but my wife says it started in the car on the way to the wedding.
Anybody have any suggestions for the next generation of this joke?

JULY 4th AT MEGAN'S

We had a nice day at Megan's. As usual, she prepared a nice lunch. Her friend, Katrina was there with her son, Marquis, who kept Megan's pooches hopping all afternoon.
Thanks, Megan!

End of the night

We were all tired, but happy. Let's do it again next year!

60 years later

Moe and Dad recreated their famous pose from their wedding day in 1951. They have both aged very well and made it through a lot of tough times. Congratulations! I hope we all endure as well as our parents.

Moe is ready to eat!

See how happy she looks? Someone get that woman a steak before she changes her mind and throws something!

Before Dinner

We all enjoyed some snacks and cocktails. The setting was just perfect - sunny, private, and located right on the golf course. We couldn't have asked for a nicer evening.

Look at these beauties!

When did they get so old? And where did they get their good looks? :)

The grandkids had fun

Believe it or not, the grandkids had fun with all of us old folks. I think they will remember this event fondly. I'm sorry we didn't have all of them there!

Nervous Gas!

Ha! Guess you had to be there for that one...

The twins in action

These two demonstrated what happens when you're womb mates and best friends....the highlight was when they both blurted out "Mel Gibson!" at the same time. What caused such synchronicity? Heidi shared a very vague clue: "a famous actor." This was sufficient information for Pat and Paul to simultaneously shout out the name of a the now-infamous, reviled actor. I mean, who even thinks of Mel Gibson anymore?? The Noonan twins, that's who.

Playing Catch Phrase

We played this game for hours and had what midwesterners would call a "real hoot." Gray Gray has her game face on and Moe looks like she's ready to kick some butt!

Grammy's lamp

Betsy and her family have managed to keep this lamp in one piece!
