THE FOOTNOTES

Every navy recruit is issued a thick book called the
Blue Jacket's Manual. It has lots of information on Navy topics, and is a convenient place to write down tbings such as names. My Blue Jacket's manual was languishing in a bookcase for lo, these many years. It was recently rediscovered, and in the book was the photograph shown here. On the back were written name and address of the sailor posing with old Bob. His name is Cal Johnson from Anson, Texas and his address was listed as Box 62, Anson, Texas. I am making an effort to send him a copy of the pioture, but after more than 60 years, Box 2 probably doesn't exist. I found a possible link on the web, and will follow it up.
In he meantime, Old Bob was about 20 years old at the time. Does anybody see any family resemblences in more current generations?
