IRENE, A Friend From Crete
Some time ago, Mara made friends with Irene Havredaki who was a Phd. candidate at UCONN. Irene was from Chanea, Crete. Irene was at our house many times during her stay at UCONN. She completed her doctorate and returned to Crete---must be 20 years ago. She and Mara have remained friends all these years. Irene's children have grown up, as you can tell from the pictures below. Georgina is a senior in college, and brother George is a high school student there.
