HALLOWEEN NIGHT AT NOONSKI'S

That's Noonski sporting a new, more youthful 'do, casting a wary glance down the street on Halloween night in expectation of the arrival of hordes of youthful acquisitors. The town has exploded with mansions, and this is part of Noonski's problem. Mansions have long driveways, and it would take all night for a kid to fill a pillow case with free candy if he had to work his own neighborhood. Driving a kid to an old development simplifies the problem. The driveways are short, as is Noonski's temper on Halloween night. Carloads of kids are dropped off while parents cruise nearby. Pillow cases are filled in short order, and the kids are back in their mansions all nice and comfy in their jammies without disruption of nightly routines. Noonski put out the front lights by a quarter of eight, and neighbors followed shortly thereafter, evidently waiting for somebody to say "that's enough!"

Comments:
That is really annoying to have carloads of kids dropped off in the neighborhood. Probably true that they went home to the mansions to count their candy, and satisfied that they earned it the easy way. Our town had designated hours last Saturday from 6 to 8 (it was before the clocks were turned back so some of the trick or treating was in daylight). Also, lots of towns also had the same designated hours so we didn't get carloads this year (and it was raining, extremely windy and about 40 degrees). Glad it's over and even better I didn't have to get any costumes ready this year!
