Newlyweds near-and-dear to our hearts
This is a photo of newlyweds Bob and Rosemary Noonan, with Bob's parents Mickey and Dolly. The photo was taken on 15 July 1951 in New Rochelle, NY; just a few weeks after their wedding and Maria Agnes Nolan Noonan's death.
Maria ("ma-rye-ah"/latin for "Mary") was Mickey's mother and lived the final 25 years of her life in New Rochelle with her only daughter (Mary Elizabeth "Lil" Noonan).

CONTESTANTS
STILL FRIENDS AFTER THE BATTLE
Two highly trained, and even more highly motivated teams, each going for the jugular, but forgetting where to find it, and forgetting most of the answers, as well, went at it this afternoon at our kitchen table in a contest of Trivial Pursuit. As the contest developed, it became apparent that contestants were not unwilling to offer wise cracks, and clues to the opposing team that by the time it was over the two teams had become one, and nobody is sure if anybody won the match. It was fun, we all look forward to a rematch.

Our First Shared Ancestors
Hello. I thought I would start blogging about our family history by posting a photo of our first shared ancestors (John Joseph "Mickey" Noonan and Catherine Laurentine "Dolly" McAloon). I hope this serves as a good starting point. If you don't know, Mickey and Dolly are my great-grandparents. They are very interesting people and I will add more information on both at a later date.
This photo is from Mary Elizabeth "Lil" Noonan Samwells' (Mickey's sister) collection and was taken on 15 July 1951 at 72 South Division Street, New Rochelle, NY.

COUSIN BILL
Bill has been studying Noonan family genealogy and has become very well informed. He has been in Ireland a number of times. Bill will join us as a contributor to the blog, and share family history with us.
We had an interesting lunch with him today, and we think you will enjoy finding out about our roots, also.

FACULTY OF PROSPECT COMMUNITY SCHOOL, 1953
I am the handsome, enormously talented, albeit modest guy in the upper left. This was at the end of my third year, and I don't recognize some of the newer staff.

PROSPECT COMMUNITY SCHOOL 1953 YEARBOOK
MR. NOONAN............
You think eight kids are a lot---so do I, but in my first two years of teaching at Prospect Community School, I had 44 in self-contained classrooms----wow--I will write about my experiences there in the near future, but let it suffice to say, I loved it. I had the class as 6th then 7th graders, and when the class graduated the next year, I was honored by having the yearbook dedicated to me. The yearbook, itself, is quite a story. The cover page and first pages are shown here

ICY BEAUTY
THE LAST RESORT
Brad has been plowing snow sine 1976, and this is the first year he has had to bring in a bucket loader to create more space for more snowfall. What that machine oould do in 10 minutes would take somebody all winter to do the hard way.

Got any good ideas?
This is a 20" tall light bulb I made with terra cotta clay, for an assignment in my hand-building class. The bulb is hollow and the threaded portion comes off like a jar. After its glazed and finished I want to display it with a bunch of ideas people have written inside of it.

A peek over the 8 foot snow pile at the end of the driveway-------the ice overed bush, now a thing of beauty
