The Documentary
The Greatest Generation - Documentary from Matt Noonan on Vimeo.
Alright, here it is! I was hoping to have it posted for memorial day, but classes got rough. I plan on making a longer version so I can put in the whole story. It was VERY hard editing this down for class due to all the really interesting stories grandpa had to tell. Needless to say, my professor was very impressed, and suggested submitting it into some contests to earn some money. Thanks so much for letting me interview you grandpa, it was a lot of fun. Looking forward to seeing you guys soon for grandma's birthday.
If anyone would like a copy, please say so and e-mail me with your mailing address to Noonanfilm@gmail.com. Hope you enjoy the video.
-Love Matt

BUSY WEEKEND
We had company this weekend. Paul and Matt were here, and were joined by Gail and Bob.
Lots of laughs and conversation.
Matt is making a documentary about Old Pop's life and times for his course at SCAD (Savannah College of Arts and Design) in Savannah. SCAD is a highly respected school which trains our movie makers. Maybe Pop will have his own show after this film. Pop will still be a nice guy, but everyone will have to pay for his autograph.

Paul and Maria's dog -- Lucy
In case you didn't know it, Paul and Maria have a dog named Lucy. She was over visiting her cousins Joey and Savannah when I took this pic. She wandered into Paul's house on New Year's Eve last year. The poor thing was soaking wet and freezing, so she must have thought their house was a good place to dry off. She's very happy and healthy now.

SURVIVOR
Good news from my cancer doctor this week. Six years and four months ago, I had my first operation. I completed my chemo treatment more than five years ago, and have been checked regularly since then. Finally my doctor pronounced me cured of colon cancer. Whew! Thank Heavens, and a good wife, I made it this far.
The banner I am wearing I wore last year at a cancer event at Tolland High. I guess I kind of anticpated the cured pronouncent. There will be another event in June, and I expect to wear it again.
I hope my experience will convince everyone that early dectection makes a big difference. Had I followed my doctor's suggestion more than 10 years ago, that I have a colonoscopy, I might have saved myself a lot of problems.
