Llao Llao Peninsula, Argentina

This is the Llao Llao (pronounced "YOW Yow") Peninsula in Argentina, close to the Chilean border (near Bariloche). As you can see, the scenery is extraordinary. The only problem traveling in this part of the world is the 'crick' you'll get in your neck from looking side to side in amazement every few minutes. It's worth the trip! We stopped at the famous (and formerly quite glamorous) Llao Llao Hotel for a drink. When I got the bill, I yelled "yow yow!" Needless to say, I didn't stay at that hotel.

HAVE A PLURAL PROBLEM?

Every Spring, I publish a picture of our Crocus plants outside our cellar window. Every time I do it, I wonder if is Crocuses or Crocci. Here's the answer, printed in the Hartford Courant today.

One of my soccer kids

This little girl, Sydney, has been playing on my soccer team for a couple of years now. She's got a great foot! She scores too many goals sometimes -- I have to pull her out and make her the goalie. She gets straight A's in school and has all kinds of other hobbies. Most of the girls are like her, actually. Soccer must attract the academically successful kids.
