NUMBER 82 AND COUNTING

Noonski's age, IQ, and golf score are finally the same--82. Credit for this long run has to go to Moe who has managed Noonski's diet, health and everything else for the last 56 years. The next 82 should be easier!

ROOT RECORDS

Katherine "Dolly" Noonan, my mother, kept a book which recorded things about her children. A double page is reproduced here in case you decide to do a genealogy report. More historical records will appear on the blog as they are found and deemed of interest.

Unfortunately, many old photographs do not identify those depicted and so will be of little value to today's family members. It is a difficult decision to destroy the pictures but ultimately someone will have to dispose of them along with us.

AUNT RITA 1921-1992

Aunt Rita was mother to Carol and Gary, wife to Fred, sister of Bob and Jack.

Here she is seen on the right side in the middle. The identities of her friends here is not known.

UP AT THE LAKE......

At Mooselick...Lake, I like to call it Rangeley Lake in Maine because I can't spell its real name. A nice remembrance of a family get-together.

HOW ABOUT A FEW FUNNIES.....

We solve cryptograms on a fairly regular basis. It is letter substitution, and involves such things as letter frequency---(e,t,a,o,i,n) are the most freqently used letters, at least in English. There are other methods of solving the scrambled texts, and we enjoy doing them. I have a book I got in Borders which has around 400 cryptograms. This book consists of witty quotations. Here are some I have translated (solved)
"After a year in therapy, my psychiatrist said to me: "Maybe life isn't good for everone." (Larry Brown)

"A study of economics usually reveals that the best time to buy anything is last year." (Marty Allen)

"Too bad all the people who know how to run the country are busy driving taxicabs and cutting hair." (George Burns)

"If at first you don't succeed, try try again then quit. No sense being a damn fool about it. (W.C. Fields)

"I have a seashell collection. Maybe you've seen it. I keep it on beaches all over the world.: Steven Wright.
